For Misha Tsiganov, the journey to becoming a renowned jazz musician began with a dream—a dream to move to the United States for greater opportunities and a broader musical landscape. Born in St. Petersburg, Russia, into a family of artists—his father a sculptor and his mother a music teacher—Misha's passion for music ignited early. At just six years old, he began playing the piano, and his dedication led him to graduate from the Mussorgsky College of Music.
In 1990, Misha’s exceptional talent was recognized with a prize-winner diploma at the All-Russia Jazz Competition. The following year, his dream took a significant step forward when the esteemed vibraphonist Gary Burton invited him to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston. After two years of rigorous training, Misha’s dream of moving to the U.S. became a reality when he relocated to New York City, where his career began to flourish.
Misha’s impressive career includes a range of notable collaborations and recordings:
1998-2008: Collaborated with Norman Hedman's Tropique, contributing to Taken By Surprise (2000, Palmetto Records) and Garden Of Forbidden Fruit (2003, PowerLight Media).
2002-present: Worked with Johnny Colon on Keeping It Real (2007).
2002-present: Partnered with Willie Martinez, recording I Remember You (2002), Family (2005), and After Winter, Spring (2008).
2003-2004: Joined Chico Freeman for the album Out Of Many Comes The One (2003, Arabesque Records).
2004: Featured on NGFOOT (Nine Guys From Out Of Town), produced by Stu Gardner and featuring artists like Michael Brecker and Randy Brecker.
2004-2008: Worked with Joe Chambers on The Outlaw (2005, Savant Records) and performed at the Half Note Jazz Club in Athens.
2007-present: Collaborated with Papo Pepin and Jed Levy, with albums including Travelogue (2011) and Italian Suite (2013, SteepleChase Records).
2007-present: Partnered with Hendrik Meurkens, contributing to Samba To Go (2009, Zoho Records), A Night In Jakarta (2010, Jawo Records), Live at Bird's Eye (2011, Zoho Records), Celebrando (2012, Zoho Records), and Samba, Little Samba (2014, Zoho Records).
In 2011, Misha toured Europe with the Myron Walden Quintet featuring Darren Barrett.
His performances have illuminated prestigious international venues and festivals, including Carnegie Hall, Blue Note, Dizzy's Club, Jazz at Lincoln Center, Avery Fisher Hall, and many others, from the Java Jakarta Jazz Festival to the St. Croix Jazz Festival.
Misha Tsiganov’s distinctive piano work was a highlight of the Bill Cosby television cartoon Little Bill (1999-2002), which continues to air on Nickelodeon and CBS. His contributions are also featured in Paramount Pictures / Viacom’s Little Bill videos.
Throughout his career, Misha has had the privilege of performing and recording with jazz icons such as Clark Terry, Michael Brecker, Randy Brecker, Wynton Marsalis, Joe Chambers, Gary Bartz, Hendrik Meurkens, and many others, embodying the essence of jazz with each performance.

An expressive jazz vocalist, Karrin Allyson has earned accolades for her lyrical balladry and adept skill at interpreting instrumental jazz songs with her lithe vocalese technique. Emerging in Kansas City in the '90s, Allyson rose to prominence singing standards and bossa nova songs, as well as more contemporary pop covers by artists like Randy Newman, Janis Ian, and James Taylor. Widely recognized as one of the most gifted jazz singers of her generation, she has picked up numerous Grammy nominations, including earning Best Jazz Vocal Album nods for 2001's Ballads: Remembering John Coltrane and 2011's 'Round Midnight.
Born in Great Bend, Kansas, Allyson grew up in Omaha, Nebraska and the San Francisco Bay Area -- during which time she began taking classical piano lessons in addition to performing as a folksinger and in an all-female rock band, Tomboy. Upon graduating from the University of Nebraska in 1987 (and receiving a degree in piano), Allyson sang regularly at her uncle's nightclub in Kansas City, a locale she decided to settle down in and call her permanent home base. Signed to the Concord Jazz label, in 1992 Allyson issued her debut, I Didn't Know About You, which led to such accolades as being name-checked in Playboy's annual readers' poll alongside such greats as Ella Fitzgerald and Shirley Horn. Subsequently, Allyson assembled a fine backing band consisting of fellow Kansas City musicians -- pianist Paul Smith, guitarists Danny Embrey and Rod Fleeman, bassist Bob Bowman, and drummer Todd Strait -- who have played on the majority of her recordings.
Allyson continued issuing albums at a steady pace throughout the remainder of the decade, including such titles as 1993's Sweet Home Cookin' and 1994's Azure-Té, plus a pair in 1996, Collage and Daydream. For her final release of the '90s, 1999's From Paris to Rio, Allyson decided to try something different and issued an album in which she sang lyrics in French and Portuguese, while covering a lot of ground stylistically (everything from a Jacques Brel cover to samba and bossa nova tunes). Allyson's next offering, 2001's Ballads: Remembering John Coltrane, proved to be one of the most acclaimed and successful of her entire career, as it earned a pair of Grammy nominations. For 2002's In Blue, Allyson opted to cover other artists' material (Mose Allison, Joni Mitchell, George and Ira Gershwin, Blossom Dearie, Abbey Lincoln, Oscar Brown, Jr., and Bonnie Raitt), as the singer only penned one of the album's 13 tracks, a path she also followed two years later on Wild for You, which contained her versions of songs from artists she had grown up with, like Cat Stevens, James Taylor, and Mitchell. In 2006 she released Footprints, earning a Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album.
Over the years, Allyson has performed at some of the top concert halls in the U.S., including an all-star tribute to Ella Fitzgerald at New York's Carnegie Hall, in addition to playing alongside both the Kansas City and Omaha symphonies. In 2008 Allyson released Imagina: Songs of Brasil, interpreting the songs of Antonio Carlos Jobim, Edú Lobo, Torquato Neto, and Pedro Caetano. She toured the recording for the next year before taking a break. In 2010 she began recording a collection of jazz, pop, and Broadway standards entitled 'Round Midnight, where she cut tunes by everyone from Duke Ellington and Stephen Sondheim to Paul Simon and Bill Evans. The album marked the first time in her recording career that she played all the keyboards on a set. It was issued in 2011 by Concord Jazz. The holiday-themed Yuletide Hideaway followed in 2013. Allyson then joined with pianist Kenny Barron and bassist John Patitucci for 2015's Many a New Day, a collection of Rodgers & Hammerstein songs. For her 2019 outing, Shoulder to Shoulder: Centennial Tribute to Women's Suffrage, the singer put together an all-female ensemble to reimagine a group of pre-suffrage songs from the 19th and early 20th century.

Jackie Myers is a jazz pianist, composer, and singer. She is a transplant from Austin Texas, where she performed in the indie touring circuit for almost a decade. She has been playing in Kansas City since December of 2017 with shows that feature a mix of jazz standards and original compositions. Since then she has held residencies at several notable jazz venues in Kansas City, including but not limited to, Corvino Supper Club, Chaz on the Plaza, and Green Lady Lounge. She also held the position of Music Director and piano player for the nationally syndicated radio show – 12th Street Jump – taped live in Kansas City until 2020, when the show ended.
During the pandemic, Jackie was able to continue performing through live streaming from her home and she produced a series of 9 concerts called “Kansas City Drive-ins” that featured artists including Bobby Watson, The Kansas City Jazz Orchestra, Eddie Moore, and Beau Bledsoe. The series was well attended and brought jazz back to its audience in a time when the venues could not host. Myers boasts a catalog of 7 albums and is currently working on her 8th. At her live shows, audiences are treated to Myers’ innovative and fluid keyboard work, punctuated by her bluesy vocals. At other times, Myers’ shows feature a purely instrumental dose. Performing as part of a duo, trio, quartet, or quintet, Myers is typically joined by some of the best musicians offered by a locale, typically combining a crisp rhythm section with top artists on horns or guitar. In 2018, Myers added Hammond organ to her repertoire, adding to the diversity of her performances. She currently plays the Hammond B3 for one of Kansas City’s most decorated Blues Artists - Nick Schnebelen.
As for Myers’ vocals, Louisiana musical writer Dominick Cross said about an earlier recording: “My initial reaction to the recording was that in some ways its Michelle Shocked meets Amy Winehouse. And several listens later, I'd say the same thing with more emphasis on Winehouse.” Bill Brownlee, jazz critic for The Plastic Sax and several other Kansas City publications said, “Her vocals on Ain’t No Sunshine and Stars Fall on Alabama demonstrated that Myers … brings a singular talent to the scene.” Myers debuted her first straight ahead jazz album in 2018 - The Instrumental One, which was recorded live at the prestigious Green Lady Lounge in Kansas City. Made up of eight tracks, including six original compositions, Jackie's keyboard stylings groove what one critic called "jazz from a solid R&B point of view." Critics compared The Instrumental One to works by Ahmad Jamal and Les McCann. Kansas City’s Roger Atkinson wrote: “I still like that soul-jazz genre . . . plus, Jackie Myers has a new fan: me.” Myers has also done some impressive work in musical production. In 2017, she produced the musical production Silent Films Out Loud: A Tribute to Buster Keaton. This event featured a nine-piece ensemble playing newly-written compositions to four Buster Keaton silent film classics, including a score by Myers to Buster Keaton’s 1922 Cops. This event, sponsored in part by the City of Austin Economic Development Department, filled Austin's premier theater - The Stateside at the Paramount. Lastly, she has recently plied her craft with local production startup - FMK Music as a producer and composer for the group. Jackie holds a certificate in music from Berklee School of Music, a BA in music from Grinnell College, and a Master of Arts in Music with a jazz concentration from UMKC.
